Seawolves Struggle In Day One Competition at Durango

DURANGO, Colo. — Monday marked day one of the NCAA Super Regional and after the first round the Sonoma State Seawolves find themselves in 12th place after shooting 341 ( 53) in the opening round.

Jasmine Monas led the Seawolves after shooting an 82 ( 10) the opening round. She is currently tied for 43rd in the tournament. Lexi Nielsen marked a 13-over-par opening round of 85 and is tied for 56th. Cristina Picariello shot an 86 ( 14) and is tied for 62nd while Julia Peters' score of 88 ( 16) proved good enough for 64th.

Currently leading the super regional is Dallas Baptist who shot a 293 ( 5) on day one, they are led by co-individual leaders Addison Mitchell and Brinn Fariss who both shot an even 72 on the opening day. Seawolves find themselves behind St. Mary's University (TX) who shot a 323 ( 35) on the day.

Sonoma State will be one of the first teams out on the green tomorrow with a tee time of 9:30 am.
