San Jose, CA - Women's water polo for Sonoma state traveled down to San Jose to compete in a round robin against nationally ranked opponents in San Jose State and Stanford. The Seawolves would drop both matches on the day losing 21-7 against San Jose and 18-6 against Stanford.
It was a tough opening day against two nationally ranked opponents but Sonoma had some bright spots as Seniors
Cassidy Mundt and
Jordan Williams lead their team in scoring on the day with 4 goals a piece between the two games. Williams scored 3 of her 4 total goals in the second match and di so only on 4 shots.
Annika Erickson also scored a pair of goals in the early match against San Jose State and lead the team with 8 shots.
The Seawolves will return to action on Wednesday, January 22 as they travel down to face off against another division I opponent in University of Pacific. The Seawolves always have a challenging schedule against top schools in the country but will look to improve game by game before they see conference opponents.
