ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. – On Tuesday, November 29th, the 2022 AVCA All-American selections were released with Sonoma State's
Jen Trephan earning Honorable Mention All-American status for the first time in her SSU career. The junior setter from Westlake HS earned her third all-conference selection of her career and her first All-CCAA First Team selection for her efforts during the 2022 season. Trephan did a little bit of everything for the Seawolves as she ranked third on the team in kills with 234, fourth in aces with 32, second in digs with 363, and first in assists with 590.
Trephan helped lead the way to a historic underdog run at the conference tournament that would ultimately propel Sonoma State into the NCAA Tournament, making their first appearance since 2017.Entering the conference tournament as the five seed, Sonoma State would upset Cal State East Bay and the top seeded Golden Eagles of Cal State LA to earn a spot in the championship game.
There, they would go toe-to-toe with Cal Poly Pomona and lose in the fifth set of a thrilling match but play their way into the national tournament. Trephan concludes her junior campaign as the team's most decorated player, earning All-CCAA First Team, AVCA All-West Region honorable mention and now AVCA All-American honorable mention. She becomes the first player to earn all-region and all-American recognition in the same season since Courtney Seda did so in 2017.
Congratulations once again to SSU setter
Jen Trephan on her incredible 2022 campaign and being named an AVCA All-American for the first time in her career.
