ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. - After an exceptional team performance at the conference championships and securing their 3rd CCAA Tournament title in program history, the Sonoma State men's golf team is headed back to the NCAA Regionals as the 3rd seed in the west. The Seawolves qualify as one of 10 teams in the west region and are one of 7 teams representing the CCAA. This represents the program's 9th consecutive regional appearance dating back to the 2013 season, all coming under head coach Val Verhunce.
Verhunce records his 15th NCAA tournament appearance during his illustrious 19-year career leading the men's golf program here at Sonoma State. The Seawolves are fresh off of a conference title after winning the tournament by 10-strokes, playing some of their best golf of the year. Veterans Griffin Pace and Thomas Jenkins Jr. continued to lead the team with top-10 finishes while newcomer Jack Greene put together a solid tournament for an 11th place finish. SSU has three returning golfers from last year's squad who made a run to the national championship in Florida, giving them plenty of experience for this year's regionals.
The Seawolves will head to Pueblo County Golf Club in Pueblo, Colorado for this year's west regional starting on Thursday, May 5th.
