Sonoma State Baseball Announces Coaching Staff for 2025 Season

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.- Sonoma State's newest head baseball coach,Jacob Garsez, is excited to announce the newest additions to the Seawolves coaching staff. The duo of Collin Wilber and Dominic Sebastiani will look to bring their expertise and energy to the Seawolves dugout for the coming season!

Collin Wilber grew up in Yorktown, Virginia and has spent the last decade dedicated to baseball as a player and coach. Wilber played four years of collegiate ball at Christopher Newport University and the Newport News Apprentice School. As a coach, Wilbur has been all over the country working across different organizations and roles. From 2022 through 2023 he served as a catching & game planning coach for the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 2023,Wilber saw three catchers that he personally worked with make their MLB debuts (Endy Rodriguez, Henry Davis, & Logan Porter). During the 2023-24 season Wilber worked as a catching & hitting coach with  Sacramento City College. He also spent time during 2024 coaching in the Cape Cod league as the bullpen & catching coach for the Chatham Anglers,a collegiate summer baseball team that competes in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Wilber also spent time as the Director of Player Development at the Inspiration Academy, an assistant coach at Concordia University of Ann Arbor and served as a Student Assistant at  Eastern Michigan University.

Dominic Sebastiani is a Bay Area native having been born and raised in San Francisco. Sebastiani has made stops all across the nation at various levels. From 2018-2021 Sebastiani stayed local coaching at City College of San Francisco as an assistant. He also worked with the San Francisco Seagulls in the Golden State Collegiate Baseball League from 2016-2021 as a bench coach in the dugout. In 2022 Sebastiani made the move to Oklahoma as a member of Murray State College's staff. In two seasons as a hitting and infield coach Murray State was outstanding. In 2022 Murray State reached the NJCAA World Series. Sebastiani helped oversee the development of four NJCAA All-Americans, saw 14 players move on to NCAA Division I programs and had a player selected during the MLB draft. Most recently, Sebastiani served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Allan Hancock College. With the Bulldogs he oversaw all facets of team operations while making the CCCAA postseason tournament and coached two all-region players.

Rounding out the coaching staff for 2025 is long time assistant and program staple Dolf Hes. Hes will be entering his 21st season with the Seawolves and has quite literally "done it all" for the program. Hes has served as a pitching coach, catching coach, field coordinator and overall assistant coach during his time with Sonoma State. During his tenure, Hes has been a part of seven tournament appearances, five tournament Championships, two Western Regional Championships and two NCAA Division II World Series appearances in 2008 and 2011. Coach Hes's pedigree and familiarity with Sonoma State Baseball will surely pay dividends for this up and coming staff.

This trio will bring years of experience to the field alongside head coach Jacob Garsez. As Sonoma State Baseball enters a new era, these coaches provide an outstanding injection of coaching expertise while also respecting the tradition of Seawolf Baseball. Things are shaping up for a great first year with Garsez at the helm!
