Volleyball Swept By No. 15 UC San Diego

LA JOLLA, Calif-  The Sonoma State volleyball team lost in three sets to No. 15 UC San Diego on Friday evening at RIMAC Arena in La Jolla.  It was just the second time this season that the Seawolves have been swept.  SSU falls to 15-4, 7-3 CCAA while UCSD improves to 13-3, 7-2 CCAA.

The Seawolves were only in one of the three sets as they were defeated by scores of 25-16, 25-12, 26-24. 

The Tritons were completely dominant on offense, hitting at a .408 clip as a team.  It was their highest team hitting percentage in four years.  Rebecca Bailey led the way with 19 kills and a .486 hitting percentage.  She became UCSD's all-time kills leader in the match.  The Tritons, as a squad, committed just eight errors the whole night.

The Seawolves hit just .103 as a team, one hundred points below their season average.  Kristy Sather paced the Sonoma attack with nine kills. 

The Seawolves return home next weekend to host Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus.
