ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State volleyball team improved to 12-0 at home this season with a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Stanislaus in CCAA action on Saturday night at Seawolf Gym. The Seawolves improve to 17-4, 9-3 CCAA on the season while the Warriors drop to 4-18, 1-11 CCAA.
The Seawolves have won 16 consecutive home games dating back to last season. At 9-3 in league play, they are in a tie for second place, one game behind front-running Cal State San Bernardino (10-2).
The Seawolves bested the Warriors by scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-18 on Saturday night to complete a season sweep.
Despite coming up empty on Saturday, the Warriors played well enough to put a scare into the Seawolves. In game two, Stanislaus led 21-16 before Sonoma rallied, scoring nine of the final eleven points for the win.
Kristy Sather was tops on the Seawolves with ten kills.
Lindsay Brown had 35 assists and
Ali Walker led the way with 19 digs.
Jen Gee and Lianne Vicchio each had ten kills for Cal State Stanislaus. Colleen Sullivan posted 30 assists and Amanda Pielstick was tops with 15 digs.
The Seawolves will now hit the road for four straight, starting next Friday at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
