Seawolves Winning Streak Halted By Wildcats

ELLENSBURG, Wash - Sonoma State's four game winning streak ended on Friday afternoon up in Washington, as Central Washington defeated the Seawolves in four sets, 3-1. With the loss, Sonoma State's record drops to 4-1 on the young season.

Central Washington took the first set 25-18, lead by the power hitting of Erin Norris, who lead the team with 14 kills in 33 attempts for a solid hitting percentage of .364. Sonoma State rallied in the second set, defeating the Wildcats 25-22, to even the score 1-1. Senior Kristy Sather increased her team-leading total of kills to 61 with 13 in the match. Again junior Lindsay Brown set up most of the kills for the Seawolves today with a total of 39.

The Wildcats clinched the match with wins in the next two sets, 25-15 and 25-21 respectively.

Brandie Vea had 50 digs to lead all defenders, and pithced in 6 assists for the Wildcats. Maggie Olson posted 40 of Central Washington's 52 assists. The Wildcats out hit the Seawolves .216 to .125 and tallied more kills 60, to Sonoma State's 49.

The Seawolves will be back action later today when they battle Hawaii Pacific at 5:00 p.m. in Ellensburg, Washington.
