Sonoma State Bounces Back With Win Over HPU

Marianne Fox had a career-high in service aces with seven
ELLENSBURG - Wash. The Sonoma State women's volleyball team bounced back after an earlier loss in the day to defeat Hawaii Pacific, 3-1. Hawaii Pacific won the first set 26-24, but the Seawolves stormed back winning the next three sets 25-8, 25-13, and 25-19. With the victory Sonoma State improves their record to 5-1.

Senior Kristy Sather and sophomore Marianne Fox lead the offensive charge for the Seawolves with 17 and 14 kills respectively for the match. Fox had 7 service aces as well, tying her for second place on Sonoma State's all-time game record for service aces in a match. For the match, Fox was 14 of 28 on kills for a clip of .429. The Seawolves out hit the Sea Warriors .272 to .112.

Junior Lindsay Brown had more assists than the entire Hawaii Pacific team. Brown had 44 to the Sea Warriors 33. Sonoma State had 48 assists for the game.

Sonoma State will return to the court tomorrow, as they take on St. Martin's in their last match in the Northwest.
