Box Score: Sonoma State 3, San Francisco State 1

SAN FRANCISCO- It was the usual suspects in Saturday's 3-1 win over host San Francisco State. Keala Peterson and Ally Sather combined for 29 of Sonoma State's 43 kills and the Seawolves recorded 11 blocks and 10 services aces en route to their fourth straight victory, moving up to 16-8 overall and 13-7 in conference play. The Gators fell to .500 in the CCAA at 10-10 (13-12 overall).

Peterson hammered down a game-high 17 kills as she now has produced double-digit kills in 10 consecutive matches and has 282 on the season. Sather added 12 in the contest and went over 300 kills for the second straight season, as she leads the team with 301. Taylor Krenwinkel also had a big night, digging 24 attacks while adding a kill and acing two serves. She now has recorded double-digit digs in 21 of the team's 24 matches this season.

At the net, six Sonoma State players rejected an attack, led by the four blocks of Brooke Moore, Devynne Johnson and Lindsay Lytle. Lytle had a solo stop to go along with 20 assists, two kills and two aces. Hayley Ross narrowly missed her second straight double-double, handing out 18 assists and notching nine digs.

The Seawolves got off to a huge start in the match, cruising to a 25-13 win to take the early 1-0 lead. The Gators came back, though, to tie the match at one set with a 25-20 win in set number two. The third set saw the most tie scores (10), including a 20-20 deadlock. Sonoma State then went on a 5-1 run to clinch the set victory (25-21) and control the match with a 2-1 advantage. The fourth frame was never in question, as SSU jumped out to a commanding 12-3 lead and never looked back. San Francisco State chipped away at the lead, but Sonoma State held them off for the 25-22 win and match victory.

Halimah Oswald led the Gators with 13 kills, the only SFSU player in double-digits, as the team hit at a .142 clip -- Sonoma State hit an even .200. San Francisco State had nine more kills than SSU (52-43) in the match.

Sonoma State will return home to wrap up its 2010 schedule with a pair of matches against Cal State L.A. (Thursday) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (Saturday). The Seawolves will then await word on their postseason fate. The top eight teams in the final NCAA Division II West Region poll will advance to the NCAA tournament. Sonoma State, who was ranked fifth last week, is looking to make its third straight appearance.
