SEASIDE, Calif. --
One night after suffering just its third loss of the season, the 11th-ranked Sonoma State volleyball team didn't waste any time in returning to the win column, taking just one hour, 22 minutes to sweep by host Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday night at The Kelp Bed.  The Seawolves wrap up the first half of conference play, rising to 16-3 and 9-2 in the CCAA, retaking sole possession of second place in the standings after a loss by UC San Diego on Saturday night.  The Otters fall to 12-7 and 6-5 in conference action.

The Seawolves dominated every statistical category, including kills (53-35), hitting percentage (.291-.148), assists (51-33), service aces (6-3), digs (80-64) and points (64-44).  Kelsey Hull led all players with 13 kills, Caylie Seitz and Regan Richert added 12 and 10, respectively, to lead the Seawolves offensively.

Nicole Gragnola had a busy night defensively, recording 24 digs -- the most since a four-set win over then-12th-ranked Western Washington back on Sept. 14 when she set a career-high with 29.  Madelyn Densberger defended 19 attacks while smashing nine kills of her own.

Cal State Monterey Bay got 12 kills from Julia Ashen and nine from Victoria Clardy, but no other Otter would have more than four.  Rachel Cookus made a team-high 22 digs as Kelsey Johnston and Lacee Ventura had 10 apiece.

Sonoma State will begin the second half of the conference schedule on the road next Friday when the Seawolves travel south to face UC San Diego at RIMAC Arena with first serve set for 7:00 pm.
