ROHNERT PARK -- Lily Carlon scored twice and handed out an assist and goalie
Lisa Rodarmel made a career-high 13 saves, but the Sonoma State women's water polo team lost 8-5 at home to Azusa Pacific Thursday afternoon at Rudloff Pool in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves fall to 4-10 on the year while the Cougars improve to 9-8.
After both teams went six minutes without a goal to start the contest, Azusa Pacific broke the scoreless tie at the 1:58 mark of the first quarter, but just 21 seconds later, Sonoma's JoJo Williams evened the game at 1-1 apiece. The Cougars netted another goal before the end of the quarter which was the start of a 4-0 run by the visitors that put APU up 5-1 late in the opening half.

Taylor Brooks cut the deficit in half with goals to make it 5-3 with 3:16 to play in the third period, but the Cougars scored on back-to-back possessions midway through the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Sonoma State will fly to La Jolla Thursday night for a Friday night, WWPA matchup at UC San Diego. First sprint is set for 6:00 pm.
