Pomona, Calif. – Seawolves edged Chapman 11-4 Friday morning and topped the day off with a 6-5 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Sonoma State continues the Claremont Convergence tomorrow morning to face La Salle at 9:00 a.m.

Game One – Sonoma State 11, Chapman 4
Five Seawolves found the back of the net in game one of the Convergence Tournament. Led by
Annika Erickson's four goals!

Sonoma State struck first when
Jordan Williams scored the game's first goal a minute in. Chapman capitalized on a power play to even the score 2-2.Â

The Seawolves held the Panthers to a scoreless second quarter, while
Amber Hellickson and Erickson both found the cage, extending its lead to 4-1 at halftime.

Following halftime, Erickson notched her third goal, answered by a Chapman goal (5-2).
Amanda Weddle and
Samantha Dieterle both added one goal apiece before the third came to an end to give the Seawolves a 7-3 hold on the Panthers.

Chapman opened the final quarter scoring within the first minute, the Panthers last goal of the game. Up 7-4, Sonoma States' Weddle, Hellickson, Williams, and Erickson added four to the final score (11-4).

Game Two – Sonoma State 6, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 5
Down 2-1 following one quarter, the Seawolves defense shut out the Anthenas the rest of the first half. Erickson and Williams added two to the board to give the Seawolves a one-point lead at halftime.

Sonoma State held a one-point advantage over the Athenas for most of the game, continuing in the third period when Weddle and Erickson to give the Seawolves its largest lead of the game.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps two goals in the fourth were not enough, and the Seawolves claimed its second win of the day.
