SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - On Friday, April 1st, the Sonoma State track & field team competed in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic hosted by SF State. Only a handful of Seawolves would compete in the meet but the team would record multiple season bests in the 1500m and 5000m.
Freshman
Alex Boyle would record a new season best in the 1500m. Boyle would place 10th in her group with a time of 4:51.03. Freshman teammate
Maddy Petersen would also compete in the 1500m and record a new season best of her own. Petersen finished with a time of 5:19.35 good for 6th in her section.
Distance runners
Abby Ribet and
Sophie Rodriguez would round out the day in the 5000m. Rodriguez would record a new season best as she was the low finisher in the event for the Seawolves. Rodriguez finished 4th in her section with a time of 18:48.65. Ribet would finish 13th in the same section and record a time of 19:33.98.
The SSU track & field team will gear up for another busy weekend next week as they head to Turlock for the Stanislaus State Track multi's on Thursday, April 7th and then back up to the bay area for the East Bay Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
