TURLOCK, CALIF.- Sonoma State Track & Field got off to a solid start at the CCAA Track & Field Championships with Ariyah Ford leading the way at the throwing pits!
Ariyah Ford has been a staple of the Seawolves roster leading the way across a multitude of throwing events all season long. At the championship meet she continued her strong performances thanks to a 45.99 meter hammer throw that saw her secure a third place finish and the Seawolves first medal of the meet!
Alongside Ford the pair of Katie Sheldon and Sydney Lopes both found success in their preliminary heats and qualified for the finals in the 100 meter sprint and 400 meter hurdles respectively. Lopes secured a seventh place finish in a time of 1:06.59 and will be back to compete in the finals on Saturday. Sheldon was able to take 8th in the 100 meter spring where her 12.26 finishing time will see her compete for the title this coming Saturday.Â
