Rust Represents Sonoma State with 3rd Place Heptathlon Finish at Kamaka Multi

WALNUT, CALIF. - On Thursday, February 22nd, Sonoma State's Kathryn Rust represented the Seawolves at the Kamaka Multi event where she was one of 14 participants in the heptathlon. This would be Rust's first time competing in the event in her SSU career, normally participating as a high jumper in most events.

Rust would record the second best finish from a CCAA participant in the event behind Cal State San Marcos and place third overall with 3,736 points. Her best finishes came in the high jump and shot put. Her mark of 4' 11½'' feet in the high jump was good for second place overall and 33' 7¼'' feet in the shot put won her the event by just a few inches. She would also place in the top five in the javelin throw and the 800 meters.
