SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - On Saturday, March 30th, the Sonoma State track & field team competed in the two-day event at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic hosted by fellow CCAA member San Francisco State. Head coach David Lawrence Jr. brought a deep squad to the two-day event and added another program record to his resume in the Distance Medley Relay. Lilliana Salado, Katie Sheldon, Loralye Clements, Sophie Rodriguez, Mia Cecilio and Alex Boyle made up the relay team for SSU and placed 10th overall with a time of 12:40.31, breaking the previous record from 2019 by nearly 20 seconds.  

The Seawolves had some great performances in the discus event with Halle McDaniels and Lily Garcia recording top-5 finishes. McDaniels continues to litter her name in the program's top-10 discus throws as her mark of 130' 6'' would go down as 6th best all-time. Sophomore Lily Garcia followed in 5th place with a mark of 127' 4''. 

SSU had another stellar performance in the 4x100 meter relay finishing 2nd out of 15 schools with a time of 48.74 seconds. That mark would go down as 3rd fastest in program history and the team's best finish of the weekend. All Sonoma State participants and results can be found below:
