ASHLAND, OREG. - On Saturday, April 20th, the Sonoma State track & field team finished a two day event at the Raider Invitational hosted by Southern Oregon. The Seawolves put together one of their best team performances of the season with multiple PR's and a new program record in the 100 meters set by
Katie Sheldon. Sheldon broke the record by just a tenth of a second with a time of 12.10 seconds and also took 1st place in the event.
Adding to the team success were throwers
Ariyah Ford and
Halle McDaniels who put together quality finishes in the discus, shot put and hammer throw. Ford has had a dominant sophomore campaign and shined in the shot put with a mark of over 40-feet, good for 1st place in that event. She also added a pair of 2nd place finishes in the discus and hammer throw. McDaniels recorded three top-5 finishes on the day with her best finish coming in the hammer throw, placing 3rd with a mark of 153' 4''.
