ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State volleyball team put forth an utterly dominating performance on Friday night, defeating Montana State-Billings in three sets in just 58 minutes. The Seawolves victory gives them a 2-0 record heading into the final day of the Seawolf Spike on Saturday.
The Seawolves won by scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-12 as they got out to early leads and never let the Yellowjackets (0-2) in it. SSU hit .326 for the game and limited MSUB to a negative hitting percentage with 21 kills and 23 errors.
Kristy Sather was brilliant, pacing the Seawolves with nine kills and no errors for a .474 average. Freshman
Briana Hammonds continued her solid play, pounding out eight kills. She finishes Friday's action with a team-high 15 kills and a .389 hitting percentage.
Lindsay Brown guided the offense, cruising to 26 assists and five service aces.
Taylor Krenwinkel posted a team-high 13 digs.
Devon Crotteau had six kills to lead the Yellowjackets.
The Seawolves will conclude the tournament tomorrow against Seattle Pacific (1-1) and Northwest Nazarene (2-0).
